Callinan Commits Initial Winter Exploration Program

November 10, 2004

Callinan Mines Limited Reports: Callinan has contracted and confirmed two drill rigs in preparation for this winter’s aggressive exploration program. Each of Callinan’s high potential Ni, Cu, PGM properties in Manitoba will be targeted. The first drill will be completing a program on the Cal Claim before moving on to the Pine and Phillips Lake Claims in the Thompson Nickel Belt.

The drill program on the 240 hectare (593 acres) Cal Claim will consist of a minimum of 600m (2000 ft) of drilling designed to extend the width, and depth of previously located Ni, Cu mineralization and define the grade of the targets located in the geophysical survey last winter. Drilling at the Cal Claim is expected to be completed in January 2005.

The drill will then be mobilized to the Thompson Nickel Belt for programs on the Pine and Phillips Lake Claims. Drilling by the previous operator intersected nickel values at Pine Lake and Phillips Lake ranging in values from 0.43% to 6.07% nickel.

The Pine Claims, covering 512 hectares (1265 acres) near the previously producing Manbridge mine, will be subjected to a drill program totalling a minimum of 610 m (2000 ft). The objective of the drill program will be to explore the strike and downward extension of previously mineralized intercepts in serpentized ultramafic host rock.

The nearby Phillips Lake Claims cover 752 hectares (1858 acres) near the Soab North and Soab South mines. Results from previous drill programs on the property are very encouraging and indicative of further mineralization. DDH PL-7 returned values of 1.19% Ni over 14.3 m including 1.99% Ni over 3.72 m. In order to trace previous drill intercepts to depth and confirm the possibility of a high grade massive sulphide keel section, such as in the nearby Pipe ore body, the mineralized zone will be the subject of a 610m (2000 ft) minimum drill program.

Deep penetrating pulse EM surveys will be completed to further locate additional targets before drilling. The core from all three programs will be assayed for PGE values to determine if they are consistent with other deposits in the area.

An extensive exploration program has been designed for Callinan’s property in the Fox River region of Manitoba and is planned to commence in late January. Details will be provided later.

All of the work will be conducted under the supervision of Pat Deveaux, P.Geo.
