Vancouver, British Columbia – October 19, 2015 – Callinex Mines Inc. (the “Company” or “Callinex”) (TSX-V: CNX; OTCQX: CLLXF) is pleased to announce it has appointed renowned VMS expert James R. Pickell to the Company’s Technical Team. Mr. Pickell has over 40 years of experience in base metal exploration within the Flin Flon district that has led to the discovery of four producing mines, including HudBay’s nearby 777 Mine. In 2001, Mr. Pickell was awarded with the PDAC Bill Dennis Prospector of the Year award for his instrumental role in the discovery of the 777 mine. The Company regards Mr. Pickell as one of the world’s foremost VMS experts and that he will have a significant role in advancing the Company’s new VMS discovery.
“We are excited to have Mr. Pickell join the technical team that we have been building alongside the Company’s renewed focus of discovering an economic VMS deposit in the Flin Flon belt,” stated Max Porterfield, President & CEO. “Jim provides a unique perspective given his extensive experience in the area which includes work at the Pine Bay and Sourdough areas of the Company’s Pine Bay Project.”
Commenting on his appointment Mr. Pickell stated, “I look forward to working with the other members of Callinex’s Technical Team and being closely involved in Callinex’s future exploration programs. I think multiple areas within the Pine Bay project have the potential to host economic VMS deposits.” Mr. Pickell continued, “The new discovery in the Sourdough area, combined with the intersected geology, provides optimism for the upcoming winter drilling campaign.”
Mr. Pickell has reviewed all drill core from the summer 2015 program and has made important contributions that have increased the Company’s geological understanding in the Sourdough area of its Pine Bay Project. With further contributions from Mr. Pickell, the Company anticipates completing a 5,000 to 10,000 meter drilling campaign in 2016.
With the addition of Mr. Pickell, the Company’s Technical Team now includes three PDAC award recipients who have collectively been instrumental in the discovery of three of the four largest mines to ever be discovered in the Flin Flon Belt, namely Trout Lake, 777 and Lalor.
