Drilling Commenced on Coles Creek

August 14, 2007

VANCOUVER-Callinan Mines (CAA-TSX.V) is pleased to announce that the 2007 exploration program has commenced at their wholly owned Coles Creek property near Houston BC.

Ten diamond drill holes are planned to test areas of known surface mineralization, and induced polarization (IP) anomalies. Abundant mineralization has been found on the claims, both in drill holes and on surface. Surface samples have yielded assays as high as 1181 g/t Ag, 2.62% Cu, and 0.4% Mo. An 11 meter drill intercept of 0.632% Cu and 0.038% Mo was recovered from the 2006 program.

The Huckleberry mine (operated by Imperial Metals) and the previously producing Equity silver mine are both near the Coles Creek and hosted in similar geological environments. A recent discovery has been made on the adjoining Seel and Ox Lake properties, operated by Gold Reach Resources (GRH.V).

The geochemical and induced polarization anomalies that remain to be drill tested on the 12,821 Ha claim block are hosted in two separate types of porphyries.
