Fox River Summary

May 3, 2005

Callinan Mines Limited (“the Company”) reports:

The Company is pleased to report that sampling work on the Fox River Claims has confirmed the occurrence of kimberlite indicator minerals verifying historical assessment records from the government of Manitoba detailing results of previous sampling.

Mineral Services of Vancouver has analyzed two samples of blue clay taken at Fox River. The samples contain grains of chromite, chromium-diopside, ilmenite and olivine, which are potentially kimberlitic.

Further testing is being carried out to ascertain if the sample’s source is a diamondiferous kimberlite.

The Company acquired an interest in the Fox River area in 2003, for its potential as a host of nickel mineralization, by way of option from WB Dunlop and joint ventured on a 50/50 basis with Bell Resources Corporation. The Company has carried out geophysical surveys on the claims and has located several favourable targets which will be drill tested as soon as conditions permit. An additional 19,000 hectares of mineral claims covering geophysical targets adjacent to the known platinum and palladium bearing ultramafic and magnetic feature have been acquired recently.

Sampling and logging of mineralized intercepts from Callinan’s Thompson Nickel Belt drill program is well underway, and results of assays will be published as soon as they are available.
